Bayu Wardhana is one extraordinary artist and a father of eight. From early on, Bayu always had the conviction that art is his calling in life. Bayu’s approach to his art is similar to an entrepreneur’s approach to his business –wholeheartedly and relentlessly. Bayu’s painting tend to be vivid in color, harmoniously complex yet rich in texture and filled with wondrous interpretations.

Plein air painting, or a phrase borrowed from the French “En Plein Air” best describes Bayu’s painting style. Bayu prefers to paint outdoor or “on the spot”, in the natural landscape and surrounding of the objects. Contrary to most people and more traditional school of painting, Bayu actually enjoyed himself the most in the midst of painting objects on the spot, in its natural glory and raw surroundings. Crowd – for Bayu – does the contrary to him; it simply injects him with more excitement to bring his painting to life.

As an artist, he stays true to his own style and his own core painting ideology. Bayu stands up behind his work. For him, his visual work reflects his personal thoughts and reflection on a subject. His bold outlines and strokes will tell you that his painting is more than just a replicate of the landscape, but rather an object which deserve to inspire contemplation by the audience.
